Contest Rules & Tie-Breakers
Each leaderboard ranks merchants using the criteria described for that specific leaderboard. Only eligible activity completed during the contest period counts toward the rankings.
All merchant leaderboards update automatically in real time as eligible activity is completed. For example, when you successfully close a deal, the deal value is immediately added to your Total Deal Value leaderboard and one deal is added to your Deals Closed leaderboard. Likewise, qualifying consumer referrals and offer referral rewards are reflected in the appropriate leaderboards as soon as they are recorded. If any qualifying deal, referral, reward, or other eligible activity is canceled, refunded, reversed, or otherwise becomes ineligible, the corresponding leaderboard totals and rankings are updated automatically in real time.
If two or more merchants finish with the same score on any leaderboard, ties will be resolved by comparing their values in the remaining merchant leaderboards in the following order:
- Total Deal Value
- Deals Closed
- Offer Referral Rewards
- Consumer Signups
For example, if two merchants are tied on Total Deal Value, the merchant with the higher Deals Closed ranks higher. If they are still tied, Offer Referral Rewards are compared, followed by Consumer Signups.
If a tie still remains after comparing all leaderboard values, the merchant who first reached the tied score, based on CloseDeal’s official system timestamp (UTC), will receive the higher ranking.
If an eligible deal, referral, reward, consumer signup, or other qualifying activity is canceled, refunded, reversed, or otherwise becomes ineligible, the corresponding deal value, DealCoins, closed deals, referrals, or leaderboard totals will be deducted automatically in real time, and leaderboard rankings will be updated accordingly.
All contest start and end times are based on U.S. Eastern Time (ET). Countdown timers display the remaining time until the contest ends for all participants, regardless of their location. Rankings displayed during the contest are provisional and may change as qualifying activity is recorded, canceled, or adjusted. Final rankings and winners are determined after the contest ends and all eligible activity has been verified.
