Note that when you sign up for an account with CloseDeal Consumer App we do not request any personal information, not even your name and we suggest that you use a nickname as your username.
This Policy describes how we treat personal information on the platforms where it is located or linked. This includes closedeal.app, clossedeal.net and closedealapp.com. It also applies to our mobile sites and apps where the Policy is located. In this Policy, we refer to our websites, mobile sites and apps as our platforms. Sometimes third parties may collect information on our platforms. This Policy does not describe their practices unless we have specifically said so in this Policy.
For users of the Consumer Application and Consumer Websites: Although we may collect your username, password and email address, we don’t know who you are and we have no interest in knowing. The only purpose we will use the information we collect from and about you is to serve you. You will use your email address to recover your password in case you lost it. We will not share your information with third parties for any marketing purposes unless specifically stated.
If you want to send or receive transfers
Only if you want to send or receive transfers we will ask for your name and last name. This is to allow the person sending you a transfer to verify that is you who is going to receive it and for the sender and receiver to audit in the future if necessary.
If you want to add a payment method
We do not save anywhere in our servers your financial information. Your payment method information is sent to the financial institution that issued the payment method. We only save a token that is related to your information and every time you make a payment we send the token for your financial institution to relate it to your payment method. Example: You add a new credit card to your wallet as a payment method, we make a small purchase to send the information and the payment processor will create the token that we will save. Tokens are encrypted and related also to CloseDeal, so nobody else can use the same token.
For users of the Merchant Application and Merchant Websites: As a Merchant some information that you provide is for public access and available from other sources thus the parts of this policy where your information is in the public domain may not apply to you.
We may also collect your name and phone number if you contact us.
You agree that any calls with CloseDeal, whether or not initiated by CloseDeal, may be monitored and recorded for quality and training purposes.
We collect account information. For example, we may collect your username and password if you create an account on our sites and apps.
When you sign up for an account or use certain features, you are opting to receive messages from other users, businesses, and Closedeal. Note that you cannot opt out of receiving certain administrative, transactional, or legal messages from Closedeal. For example, if you make a reservation, purchase a product or pay for a service, place yourself on a waitlist, or request a quote from a business through CloseDeal, we may send you messages about your transaction using the contact information you provide, including through automated SMS text messages to your phone number. We may also track your actions in response to the messages you receive from us or through CloseDeal, such as whether you deleted, opened, or forwarded such messages. If you exchange messages with others through CloseDeal, we may store them in order to process and deliver them, allow you to manage them, and we may review and disclose them in connection with investigations related to use of CloseDeal, as well as our efforts to improve CloseDeal. We may not deliver messages that we believe are objectionable, such as spam messages, fraudulent solicitations, or requests to exchange reviews for compensation. If you send or receive messages through CloseDeal via SMS text message, we may log phone numbers, phone carriers, and the date and time that the messages were processed. Carriers may charge recipients for texts that they receive. We may also store information that you provide through communications to us, including from phone calls, letters, emails and other electronic messages, or in person. If you are a representative of a business listed on Closedeal, we may contact you, including by phone or email, using the contact information you provide us, make publicly available, or that we have on record for your business. Our calls with you may be monitored and recorded for quality purposes.
If you initiate a transaction through CloseDeal, such as a reservation or purchase, we may collect and store information about you, such as your name, phone number, address, email, and payment information (such as a credit card number and expiration date), as well as any other information you provide to us, in order to process your transaction, send communications about them to you, and populate forms for future transactions. This information may be shared with third parties, and third parties may share such information with us, for the same purposes. When you submit credit card numbers, we encrypt that information using industry standard technology. If you write reviews about businesses with which you transact through CloseDeal, we may publicly display the fact that you transacted with those businesses. For example, if you acquired a product or used a service through CloseDeal and write a review about your experience, we will publicly display your review.
We may store information about your use of CloseDeal, such as your search activity, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, businesses you contact using our mobile applications, and reservations and purchases you make through CloseDeal. We also may store information that your computer or mobile device may provide to us in connection with your use of CloseDeal, such as your browser type, type of computer or mobile device, browser language, IP address, WiFi information such as SSID, mobile carrier, phone number, unique device identifier, advertising identifier, location (including geolocation, beacon based location, and GPS location), and requested and referring URLs. We may also receive and store your location whenever our mobile applications are running, including when running in the background, if you enable our mobile apps to access such information in the course of using CloseDeal. You may be able to limit or disallow our use of certain location data through your device or browser settings, for example by adjusting the "Location Services" settings for our applications in iOS privacy settings.
We collect information about your interactions with the app. For example, we collect the searches you run on the app. We also collect information about the circulars and content you view in the app.
We collect information you submit or post. For example, we collect the information you post in a public space on our platform. This may include comments you post to our platform. We also collect information if you respond to a survey.
Why we need to collect your location
We collect location information to display offers available near your location and to display in the map your location relative to the offer you select. We may collect information about the location from which you are using our services. This might include stores you visit. We may also collect your ZIP code if you provide it. We may collect location information using different technologies. These technologies may include the location services of your operating system and browser as well as sensor data from your device. We may also collect and use Wi-Fi and GPS information and information on nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers. We might collect location information in the background, including when you are not directly interacting with our app if you so decide or you may select to allow location collection only when using the app.
We collect demographic information. We may collect information like your gender and age. We may collect your zip code to help you find sales relevant to you. We might collect this when you use our platforms.
We collect device and other information. We may collect information about your IP address or other device identifier and the browser you’re using. This might include device and advertising identifiers. This might also include device usage information like battery usage. We might also look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. We might look at how often you use the app and where you downloaded it. If you use our app, we might collect this information in the background, including when the app is not running if you have so allowed.
We collect information in different ways.
We collect information directly from you. For example, if you contact us, or sign up for alerts.
We collect information from you passively. We use tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons to collect information from you. We also use passive tracking technologies to gather information about your device and usage. We collect information about users over time when you use this platform. We may have third parties collect personal information this way. We also collect information from our mobile apps.
We get information about you from third parties. For example, our business partners may give us information about you. Social media platforms may also give us information about you.
We combine information. For example, we may combine information that we have collected offline with information we collect online. We may also combine information we have collected through our other platforms. Or we may combine information we get from a third party with information we already have.
We use information to respond to your requests or questions. For example, we might use your information to respond to your comments or questions.
We use information to improve our products and services. We may use your information to make our platforms and products better. We might use your information to customize your experience with us. We may combine information we get from you with information about you we get from third parties. We also use your information for analytics purposes.
We use information for security purposes. We may use information to protect our company and our customers. We also use information to protect our platforms.
We use information for marketing purposes. For example, we might send you information about special offers. We might also use your information to serve you ads about products and offers. We may also use push notifications on our mobile apps. For example, we may send you push notifications about offers and deals based on your preferences.

We will share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We might share information when we are investigating potential fraud.
We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business was sold we may give our customer list as part of that transaction.
We may share information for other reasons we may describe to you.
You have certain choices about how we use your information.

Don’t worry - even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages. These include responses to your questions or information about your account.

You can control tools on your mobile devices. For example, you can turn off the GPS locator, your Wi-Fi connection, or push notifications on your phone.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you reside in California, you have the right to ask us one time each year if we have shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make a request, please send us an email, or write to us at the address listed below. Indicate in your letter that you are a California resident making a “Shine the Light” inquiry.
These platforms are not intended for children.
Our platforms are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without permission from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child under 13 has given us information, you can email us. You can also write to us at the address listed at the end of this Policy. Please mark your inquiries “COPPA Information Request.”
We use standard security measures.
The Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our platforms will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet. This includes not sharing your passwords. We keep personal information as long as it is necessary or relevant for the practices described in this Policy. We also keep information as otherwise required by law.
We may store information in and outside of the United States.
If you live outside of the United States, you understand and agree that we may transfer your information to the United States. This platforms is subject to U.S. laws, which may not afford the same level of protection as those in your country.
We may link to other sites or apps or have third party services on our platforms we don’t control.
